St. Peregrine was a rich fellow who spent all his time and money doing
whatever he could to attack the church. That is until the fateful day when
Peregrine slapped St. Phillip Benizi upside the head during a heated argument. St. Phillip turned the other check and Peregrine was converted on the spot.

St, Peregrine rushed off to join the priesthood. He spent the next 30 years keeping silence, except when asked to orate. He was fabulous as an orator.

And during his 30 years of relative silence he also never sat down. Not in the colloquial sense, meaning ‘really busy’. He literally never sat down as penance for his former life of arguing and hitting people.

He developed cancer in his foot. On the night before his foot was to be amputated, Jesus appeared to St. Peregrine in a dream and touched his foot. St. Peregrine’s awoke to find his cancer healed.
